I see you have met my new "buddy." I agree with your answer to his desires though.

That is funny... and profound.
It is easy to get into rutts in life. It takes ingenuity to get out of them sometimes.

back to the convert post...
By telling the Good News of salvation and through prayer, you plant a seed. The Holy Spirit will do the rest. Man can choose to accept the Holy Spirit or to reject Him.
This is the way it is with the Kingdon of God, everything centers around Jesus. You cannot by your own reason or strength, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ or come to Him. But the Holy Spirit has called you by the Gospel, enlightened you with His gifts, sanctified and kept you with Christ in the one true faith.
"But by His crucifixion, you may, you must be sure of this. God does not desire to condemn you but to save you. - "For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him." - Through Him and His merits. If it was by you and your merits He could have saved Himself a great deal of suffering and pain. - "For God so loved the world that He gave his only Son…” that whoever clings to the Son and the Son alone, “shall not perish but have eternal life.”
That my friends, is the Good News!

As man's understanding of languages grows, so are the translations of writings of the ancients.
True, the Bible has been re-written and translated but the core remains the same. The books of the Old Testament prophesy the coming of Jesus, the Lamb of God. The New Testament proclaims that He has come, lived as a man among us, was crucified, died and rose again and ascended into Heaven.
As for interpretation, the Bible has a way of "speaking" to the reader relating to the situation that he or she is going through. That is the Holy Spirit at work.

If you must see things in anagenda then try this one out:
1st - God. His kingdom will come and His will be done.
2nd - The needs of my family. This is the Daily Bread part but "bread" doesn't mean just food.
3rd - My needs.
4th - Repentance, forgiveness for and of. Then Prayer.
5th - Live life accordingly and in the Spirit.
Christianity is not an agenda, good works or about handing out trinkets. Faith is just that, faith. By Grace alone are we saved and because of that, we joyfully spread the Gospel, Jesus life, death and resurrection from the dead. His victory over the bounds of death. Hallelujah!
As I said, having a Christian president won't save us as a nation, having a Christian nation will direct the President and hold him accountable. I pray for my leaders and for leaders across the Globe. But they are mortals as are you and I.
